WORDSMITH for VRChat
A five-letter word game for any world. Persistent, drop-in easy, no setup.
[Udon] [UdonSharp] [SDK3] [PC + Quest]
Turn any wall in your world into a puzzle board. This is a polished, arcade-styled five-letter word game for VRChat — six guesses, a live colour-coded keyboard, personal stats and two leaderboards, all on one clean panel. It drops into any world, standalone, with nothing else required.
No setup headaches. Drag a prefab onto a wall and it just works.

That's the actual product running live — same board, same word lists, same keyboard, same leaderboards. Walk up, play a round, see how it feels in VR before you spend anything. No demo build, no cut-down version, no watermark.
Why your visitors will love it
- Walk up and play, instantly. No lobby, no turn order, no waiting for anyone. Someone can start a round the second they arrive and step away just as easily.
- A word list that never feels cheap. 2,600 hand-curated answers, filtered pass after pass to cut anything a player would call unfair — while a separate 15,000-word dictionary accepts almost any real word you try to guess. You'll never lose a round to a word you've never heard of, and you'll never be told a word you do know isn't real.
- Stats that follow them. Games played, win rate, current streak, best streak, average guesses, and a full guess-distribution histogram — all saved to the player's VRChat account, all waiting for them next visit.
- Two leaderboards. Most Wins and Longest Streak, side by side, paged so a busy instance keeps scrolling and a quiet one stays tidy. There's always a rank to climb.
- Sound and touch. A soft key tap on every letter, a buzzer on a rejected guess, stings for a win and a loss, and a gentle pulse in both controllers as you type in VR.
- Every player controls their own experience. One tap mutes the sound, another stops the haptics — and the choice is saved to their account, so a player who prefers a quiet board gets one every visit. The haptics control hides itself for desktop players, who have nothing to pulse.
- Hard Mode. Every hint you've revealed must be reused in your next guess — and the board tells you exactly which letter you ignored. Locks in once a round is under way, so no one games it.
- Colourblind palette. One toggle swaps the classic pair for blue and orange. Roughly one man in twelve has red-green deficiency; they shouldn't have to guess at the tiles too.
- It tells you what went wrong. Word too short, word not in the dictionary, hard-mode violation — every rejection gets a message, a buzz and a row shake. Nothing fails silently.
How it looks
A retro arcade panel — deep navy backdrop, gold frame, and a Dooley Productions footer. Six rows of five tiles, an eggshell QWERTY key wall that darkens letter by letter as the round narrows, a Most Wins and Longest Streak board stacked to the left, and a personal stats panel with a bar-chart histogram to the right. Thin gold borders tie all four panels together. The whole thing spans two metres and sits flush and symmetric on any flat wall.
One theme object drives the entire look. Tile colours, key colours, borders, text, sizing, sounds, haptic strength — change them in one place and every board, leaderboard and stats panel in your world follows. Recolour it to match your world in about a minute, without touching a line of code.
Built right for VRChat
- Truly plug-and-play. The prefab ships fully wired — word lists, colours, sounds and fonts all pre-assigned. Drop one in; no fields to hook up.
- Persistent. Wins, streaks, guess history and audio preferences carry across visits and instances using VRChat PlayerData.
- Run as many as you like. Each board is its own independent game, while every board writes the same player totals — so stats and leaderboards agree everywhere in your world automatically. Zero cross-wiring.
- Per-player rounds. Each player gets their own puzzle and their own six guesses, so nothing is synced and nothing can be griefed. Two people at one board are playing two different words — and each hears only their own board.
- PC + Quest friendly. The entire board is lightweight Unity UI — no custom art meshes, no shaders, nothing to weigh a world down.
- Fast lookups. The 15,000-word dictionary is binary-searched in place, about fourteen comparisons per guess, with no load-time cost at all.
- Raycast controls. Point-and-click keys that feel natural in desktop and VR.

Artificial Intelligence
This product was created with the assistance of AI. The UdonSharp scripts were developed with help from an AI coding assistant (Anthropic's Claude), several of the sound effects were AI-generated, and the listing thumbnail was generated using an AI image tool. All work was directed, reviewed, and assembled by me.
